Awesome Tip: When Keeping Up With the Joneses Goes Wrong | DailyVee 470 in Manila

If you’re living your life “keeping up with the Joneses”, you’re losing. I don’t know who the Joneses are, but the idea of spending your time worrying about what someone else has or is doing is ridiculous. Focus on you, other people have nothing to do with you.

  1. If the focus is on NOT keeping up with others that have more than you, why do you start off your video with shots of you traveling. It's kind of hypocritical to show off and then tell us not to want. Maybe just get to the point so you have more of a chance of relating to others!!

  2. Gary – Your Jones's are all of the people you measure yourself against everyday. You live for followers and eyeballs. They are your Jones's, so please stop pretending that you don't care about "the Jones's", your entire public life is all about beating your Jones's.

  3. I think you're spot on with what you say and you preach a great message, however I can't help but feel you contradict yourself when you tell people don't get fancy, fuck the Jones's etc.
You're heavily invested in the advertising business, your job is selling. Majority of people can't afford the shit social media influencers peddle or rappers sing about, but they get fomo and do it anyway. You may not do it directly but you're still apart of the problem.

  4. I had a sports coach as a kid who used to say : "Some people remain happy if their team loses as long as they score. Others are happy when their team wins even if they don't score".

Perception and perspective. Similar to it's not about making an income but an impact. Ideally, you could do both. Make a big income and impact; score and win.

  5. Comparing, Doubting, and Complaining -> I think these are the worst three that people suffer with. Getting over just these three, making a pact with yourself, promising not to do these things, writing it in a contract and signing it. It will change your life.

  6. I’ve never thought about the jones’ but where my journey in life is heading. After a very dark patch of my life where I literally had nothing I learned more about who I was and what I wanted……and never to be there again!
